- Dr Lim Jit Fong is a general surgeon who practices at Singapore’s Gleneagles Hospital.
Dr Lim is particularly interested in laparoscopic colorectal surgery. He is skilled in laparoscopic (keyhole) colorectal surgery, including single incision colorectal surgery (single keyhole). Additionally, he is certified to perform robotic colorectal surgery.
His additional clinical interests include the treatment of colorectal cancer, hemorrhoids, fistula-in-ano, faecal incontinence, and dyssynergic defecation. - After completing his advanced specialty training in general surgery in 2003, Dr Lim was awarded a Singapore General Hospital (SGH) Fellowship to continue his training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Australia in functional defecatory disorders and minimally invasive colorectal surgery.
Dr Lim returned to Singapore from Australia in 2005 and served as a consultant in the Department of Colorectal Surgery at SGH until 2011, when he left for private practice.
Dr Lim Jit Fong served as the head of the Pelvic Floor Disorder Service, the Anorectal Physiology and Ultrasound Laboratory, and Clinical Research in the Colorectal Surgery Department during his tenure at SGH. He also oversaw the medical education program for the Department of Colorectal Surgery at the hospital.
He is currently a visiting consultant at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital’s Department of General Surgery.
Dr Lim is a member of the executive committees of the Singapore Society for Continence and the Singapore Society of Colorectal Surgeons. He is a Singapore Medical Association member.
Additionally, he serves on an advisory board and reviews scholarly articles for many peer-reviewed journals on a regular basis.
