Professional Statement

Prof. Dr M A Rashid graduated from Dhaka University’s Mymensingh Medical College in 1986. Following graduation, he worked for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare at several government medical institutions and hospitals around the country. He subsequently committed himself to study and earned his FCPS (Physical Medicine) fellowship from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1996. (BCPS).

Dr M A Rashid worked at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and BSMMU. He joined NITOR (Pongu Hospital) as an Assistant Professor in 1996 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2003. He then worked till 2009 as an Associate Professor of Physical Medicine at Sir Salimullah Medical College & Mitford Hospital. Dr M A Rashid afterwards joined Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College as Professor and Vice Principal till June 2015. Then, until September 2015, he served as Principal and Professor of Physical Medicine at Mugda Medical College. Since September 2015, he has served as Director of Medical Education and Health Manpower Development at the Department of Health and Human Services.

Dr M A Rashid studied Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Aga Khan Medical University in Pakistan, Bummungard Hospital in Thailand, Yangun Medical College in Myanmar, and CMC in Vellore, India, as well as the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, and France. Dr M A Rashid has over 22 years of experience practicing Physical Medicine.
