- Dr Mi Fang Helen is an Associate Consultant at Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s National Healthcare Group Eye Institute (NHGEI).
- Dr Mi Fang Helen completed her undergraduate medical training at the National University of Singapore’s Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2014, earning Bachelor degrees in Medicine and Surgery. She completed a medical elective in 2013 at Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore, USA), under the supervision of Prof. Shannath Merbs. She was a recipient of the Ministry of Health’s Ophthalmology Residency Training Award and completed postgraduate training in Ophthalmology. She graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) in 2018 and passed her Ophthalmology specialty exit test in 2020. In 2020, she will also be elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in the United Kingdom.
- Dr Helen is involved in clinical research and has presented at both national and international ophthalmology conferences. She has published research articles in a variety of peer-reviewed international ophthalmology publications and book chapters in ophthalmology textbooks. She is also interested in community service and has worked on a variety of projects both locally and regionally.
- Dr Helen’s clinical interests include vitreoretinal surgery, medical retina, cataract surgery, and general ophthalmology. She is involved in education and teaching, and during her residency, she served as both chief resident and chief senior resident. She is currently employed as a Clinical Tutor at the National University of Singapore’s Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore’s Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.
