Dr Ngo Shufen Cheryl is a specialist in Adult Strabismus and Pediatric Ophthalmology as well as Pediatric anterior segment diseases and refractive errors.
Dr Ngo Shufen Cheryl is a multi-talented specialist in treating complex strabismus/squint cases, infant retinoblastoma, pediatric cataracts, glaucoma and neuro-ophthalmology cases, as well as adult cataracts.
She is an accomplished ophthalmologist with expertise in laser eye surgery.
She went through fellowship training at a renowned hospital at the University of Toronto, Canada.
Dr Ngo Shufen Cheryl’s previous job was the head of paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at the National University Hospital (NUH). She has extensive experience in research and administration at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. She continues to work as a visiting lecturer at NUH.
From 2016 on, she has been a member of the Association of Adult Eye Care and a member of the Paediatrics Subspecialty Committee in the College of Ophthalmologists at the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
Dr Ngo’s interest include the effects of eye disease in children as well as adult cataracts.
She has written several peer reviewed journal articles in international journals, and has been asked to review for peer reviewed international ophthalmology journals.
Dr Ng has received commendation letters for her clinical work and was honored at the Eye and Vision Health Awards for receiving the Meritorious Service Award.
She has received the Singapore Medical Association’s Merit and Yeoh Khuan Joo Gold medals in 2005.
She actively contributes to medical missions in Asia and China.
