Dr Nikolas Wanahita is a cardiologist who works at Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital. He specializes in cardiovascular medicine, nuclear cardiology and interventional cardiology.
Dr Nikolas Wanahita, a native of Jakarta, Indonesia, completed his higher education in the United States, where he spent nearly 20 years of his life. He graduated summa cum laude (with highest honour) from Saint Louis University with a degree in Biological Sciences, before earning a Master degree in Healthcare Administration. He went on to receive his Doctorate in Medicine from Creighton University School of Medicine.
At Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, Dr Wanahita did his postgraduate residency training in internal medicine. He subsequently underwent a fellowship in preventive cardiology and general (clinical) cardiology (specialist training). During his final fellowship year, he was elected Chief Fellow. Dr. Wanahita subsequently obtained a fellowship (subspecialty training) in interventional cardiology at New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital, where the first treatment of coronary angioplasty (ballooning) was conducted in the United States.
At several renowned hospitals and Cardiac Cath laboratories in New York City, including the New York-Presbyterian Hospital / Columbia University Medical Center, Lenox Hill Hospital, New York University Langone Medical Center, and Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center, Dr. Wanahita served as an interventional cardiology consultant doctor. He has served as a faculty member at the Medical Center of Columbia University and the School of Medicine at New York University.
Dr Nikolas Wanahita is triple board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, and interventional cardiology. In addition, he is accredited in nuclear cardiology by the commission. He was elected a Fellow of the American Cardiology College (FACC) and a Fellow of the Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention Society (FSCAI).
As the first speaker, Dr Nikolas Wanahita has published a number of scientific papers in various medical journals and has presented numerous scientific abstracts at numerous International Scientific Meetings in Cardiology. For numerous prestigious medical journals, such as the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC), Circulation, and the Journal of the American Medical Association, he served as peer reviewer (JAMA). At several local and international cardiology and interventional cardiology conferences, Dr Wanahita has been regularly invited as a faculty member and speaker.
