Dr Nirmala Subramanian has been a Plastic Surgeon at Sankara Nethralaya since 1981.
She earned her M.B.B.S. and M.S. General Surgery degrees from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, as well as her post-graduate training in plastic surgery from Madras Medical College. She specializes in Cosmetic Surgery, Burns, Hand Surgery, and Microvascular Surgery.
She retired as a Professor and Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Kilpauk Medical College & Hospital from the Tamil Nadu Government Services. At the same time, she developed Oculoplastic Surgery at Sankara Nethralaya and has been affiliated with this specialty since 1981.
