Dr Parthopratim Dutta Majumder received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Assam University’s Silchar Medical College & Hospital. He received his fellowship in medical retina and uvea from Sankara Nethralaya before joining the department of the uvea and intraocular inflammation as an associate consultant.
He has contributed chapters to several books, including Will’s Eye Atlas, among others. He received the Dr. TLK Row Endowment Award for best associate consultant in 2010-11. He is a member of the All India, Delhi, and All Assam Ophthalmological Societies, as well as the Indian Uveitis Society. In 2009, he won the Nataraj Pillai award for best scientific paper.
He has participated in and delivered papers at a number of national and international conferences. His research interests include the surgical treatment of uveitis and scleritis, as well as phacoemulsification of uveitic cataracts. He is the editor of the medical and vision science foundation’s scientific journal “INSIGHT.”
