Dr Rajiv Parakh received his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in the United Kingdom in 1986 and underwent Vascular Surgery training in the United Kingdom before returning to India in 1990 to establish one of the first independent Vascular Surgery departments in the country.
He is a Life Member of the Society of Vascular Surgery and a founding member of the Vascular Society of India and the Endo-vascular Intervention Society of India. In 2007, he was elected Secretary of the International Society for Vascular Surgery, based in New York.
