Dr Rania is a board-certified rheumatologist and a clinical assistant professor of rheumatology at UCLA. She was born in Los Angeles and reared there. She finished her undergraduate studies at UCLA and then attended medical school at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where she was a member of the Gold Humanism in Medicine Honor Society and awarded the Joseph Garrison Parker Award for excellence in the arts of medicine. She finished her residency in internal medicine at Albert Einstein and her fellowship in rheumatology at UCLA. She spent many years in private practice, while concurrently lecturing and conducting several clinical studies as a principal investigator.
