In 2006, she received her M.B.B.S. from K.A.P Viswanathan Government Medical College Trichy.
Then, in 2010, she received her M. S. Ophthalmology from Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai, and in 2011, she received her Diploma from the Nation Board of Examination in Ophthalmology.
She is also a 2011 Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology (FICO) and a 2013 Fellow of the ALL India Collegium of Ophthalmology (FAICO). She has delivered posters and papers at a number of national and international conferences.
She received the best paper award at the Glaucoma Society of India conference in Bhubaneshwar, Orissa, in 2014. She has also contributed chapters to glaucoma textbooks and has a few peer-reviewed journal publications.
Angle closure disorder and pediatric glaucomas are two of her research interests.
