Professional Statement
Dr Savjani was born outside of Chicago, Illinois, and raised in the Houston, Texas area. His interest in computers and the brain led him to major in both EE/CS and brain and cognitive sciences at MIT. This inspired him to investigate neuroimaging while pursuing an MD/PhD at Texas A&M College of Medicine. Dr. Savjani’s PhD work included mapping how saccadic eye movements are spatially represented in the superior colliculus of the human brain, as well as a range of structural and functional MRI investigations. Prior to enrolling in the UCLA Radiation Oncology Residency Program, he briefly returned to Chicago for his transitional year at the University of Chicago (North Shore).
