Biodata
- Dr Robert Lim holds degrees in medicine from both the University of St Andrews and the University of Edinburgh (MBChB). He subsequently relocated to New York, where he did postgraduate study in Internal Medicine, Haematology, and Medical Oncology at The New York Hospital – Cornell University Medical College and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, respectively. Dr Lim is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh, in addition to his American Board certifications in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Haematology. He acquired a strong clinical interest in gastrointestinal, liver, and pancreatic malignancies upon his return to Singapore in 1998.
- Apart from his clinical expertise, he has co-authored several critical big studies in colon and pancreatic cancer that have had a significant impact on clinical practice. He was the Head of the Department of Haematology-Oncology at the National University Cancer Institute in Singapore from 2005 to 2011. (NCIS). The emphasis on finding novel medication treatments and increasing awareness of the special difficulty faced by Asians with cancer has benefited a large number of patients and their families.
- Dr Robert Lim served on the Specialist Training Committee in Medical Oncology, where he mentored and guided numerous professionals in internal medicine and oncology. Among his other diverse roles, he has served as an Associate Director of NCIS and formerly served on the council of Dover Park Hospice, where he chaired the medical professional audit committee.
