Education & Experience:
Dr Robless Peter Ashley is currently a vascular surgeon working in Singapore at Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
He specializes in deep vein thrombosis (DVT), vascular diagnosis, blocked artery therapy and varicose veins.
Dr Robless Peter Ashley worked at the Imperial College School of Medicine as a research fellow for the Asymptomatic Carotid Surgery Trial at St Mary’s Hospital. He qualified as a specialist registrar in General and Vascular Surgery, on both the South East and North West Thames London Deanery Surgical rotations, after completing two years of clinical study.
Dr Robless Peter Ashley then spent a year as a vascular fellow specializing in endovascular surgery at St George Hospital, Sydney, Australia, before returning to Singapore in 2005 as an associate professor of the Department of Surgery at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and a vascular surgeon consultant at the National University Hospital Department of Cardiac Thoracic and Vascular Surgery.
He was the founding director and senior consultant of the Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Division during his 9 years there. He was also the Vascular Medicine and Therapy Program Director and Director of the Non Invasive Vascular Laboratory at the Singapore National University Heart Centre. He is currently an associate assistant professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine Department of Surgery and a visiting consultant (vascular surgery) at the National University Hospital and National Heart Centre.
Dr Robless Peter Ashley received a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from the University of London in 2006 and 2009, respectively. He was awarded a National Healthcare Community Health Manpower Development Plan grant to visit the vascular surgical units at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston and The Cleveland Clinic in Ohio to encourage vascular surgery in Singapore.
Dr Robless Peter Ashley is a member of Cochrane’s ongoing Peripheral Vascular Disease Partnership Review Group. He has published his findings in Peripheral Vascular Disease on the use of antiplatelet agents and cilostazol.
