- Dr Shawn Vasoo Sushilan is the Clinical Director of Singapore’s National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) and a Senior Consultant at Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s Department of Infectious Diseases.
- Dr Shawn Vasoo Sushilan earned his bachelor’s degree in 2001 from the National University of Singapore and then completed fellowships in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, followed by fellowships in Clinical Microbiology and Orthopedic Infectious Diseases at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
- Dr Vasoo returned to Singapore in 2014 to lead the NCID’s Infectious Diseases Research Laboratory, in addition to caring for in- and out-patients on the Infectious Diseases Service. He also serves as an educator at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at Nanyang Technological University and the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore.
- He is on the editorial boards of many publications, including the Singapore Medical Journal, BMC Infectious Diseases, the Journal of Bone and Joint Infection, and the Journal of Clinical Microbiology. He is passionate about quick diagnostics, Gram negative resistance, bone and joint diseases, and preparedness for outbreaks.
