Biodata
- Dr Shyam Kumar S, Consultant ENT, Head & Neck Surgeon, graduated with first class honors from Kasturba Medical College (Manipal University) in 2000. He spent some time training under the late Prof B. Ramamurthi, India’s first neurosurgeon, and subsequently enrolled in his Alma mater, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, in 2002 after achieving the 21st position in the national level entrance exam. At the AIIMS. Dr Shyam Kumar S completed his dissertation, “Long and short-term outcomes of Cochlear Implantation in Prelingually Deafened Children.” He completed his residency in Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at AIIMS in 2005 and was given the ” KAMINI CHARITY TRUST PRIZE ” for the year 2005’s outgoing postgraduate. He continued to work at AIIMS in various capacities until 2009. He received the “ORL society travel grant” for presenting his research work. He returned to Chennai in 2010 as an Assistant Professor at Sri Ramachandra University, where he organized a number of ENT courses and conferences. He completed a residency in laser surgery for head and neck cancers at Keil University in Germany in 2012 under the supervision of Prof Petra Ambrosch. In 2013, he became a full-time freelance practitioner.
