    His clinical specialty includes vascular replacements for chest and abdominal aneurysms (artery swelling), revascularisation (restoration of blood flow) for diabetic and non-diabetic peripheral vascular disease, dialysis access surgery (to pump blood in diabetics), removing carotid artery blockages to prevent stroke, and advanced wound care.
  • Dr Sriram Narayanan earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees in 1993 from India’s Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER). He then completed his basic surgical training at Mumbai’s Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy Hospital, where he earned a Master of Surgery degree in 1997. Dr Narayanan then completed advanced training in gastrointestinal, thoracic (chest), and hepatobiliary (liver, gall bladder, and bile duct) surgery in Liverpool and Cornwall, the United Kingdom, followed by two years of study on transplantation in Nottingham, the United Kingdom.
    Dr Sriram Narayanan then completed subspecialty training in vascular surgery in 2002 at Cardiff University’s School of Medicine. Dr Narayanan began his career in 2008 as a senior vascular fellow at Imperial College London, UK, where he worked alongside Dr Alun Davies, who chaired the academic section of vascular surgery. Dr Narayanan completed his fellowship at the Charing Cross and St Mary’s Hospitals in London, UK.
    Dr Sriram Narayanan previously worked at Tan Tock Seng Hospital as a consultant vascular surgeon (TTSH). He served as the director of vascular surgery and a key faculty member of the National Healthcare Group’s surgical residency program in Singapore during his tenure.
    Dr Narayanan has published studies on transplantation, vascular entry, and endovascular surgery, a minimally invasive technique. He also serves on the International Journal of Surgery’s peer review committee.
    Dr Narayanan educates doctors in Southeast Asia on venous reconstruction surgery, intravascular ultrasound, and aortic surgery. In 2016, he served as chairman of the Asian Venous Forum, which was organized by the Asian Society for Vascular Surgery.
    Apart from clinical studies, Dr Narayanan oversaw doctoral students’ study at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore on computer modeling of Asian aortic aneurysms. He is currently an adjunct assistant professor at the National University of Singapore’s Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS).
