- Dr Stephanie M Young is a Senior Consultant Eye Surgeon at Eagle Eye Centre and the Director of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She is particularly interested in cosmetic and reconstructive ophthalmic surgery of the eyelids, lacrimal system, and orbit. Additionally, she specializes in periocular rejuvenation through the use of Botox®, dermal fillers, eyelid surgery, and brow lifts. She is also proficient in general ophthalmology, where she treats issues such as dry eyes, weeping, and cataracts, as well as screening for eye illnesses such as glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.
- Dr Stephanie M Young was a consultant at the National University Hospital’s (NUH) Ophthalmology Department and an Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore’s Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS). She has received fellowships from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (London) and the Academy of Medicine (Singapore), has been awarded the Gold Medal and Book Prize in Ophthalmology, and has been recognized for her Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program with a Distinction Award for Ophthalmology-related research.
- After completing her Ophthalmology residency at NUH and a surgically intensive fellowship in orbital, oculofacial, and ophthalmic oncology with Dr Gangadhar Sundar and Prof Shantha Amrith, she spent a year training with renowned oculoplastic surgeons Prof Kim Yoon-Duck and Prof Woo Kyung In at Samsung Medical Center in Seoul, South Korea.
- Dr Stephanie M Young acquired substantial exposure to functional and aesthetic eyelid surgery, endoscopic lacrimal surgery, and sophisticated orbital surgery during her time in Seoul.
- Dr Stephanie M Young is an active researcher in the field of oculoplastics, having produced over 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals and several book chapters. Additionally, she has been recognized with the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Achievement Award (2019), the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology’s Best Scientific Paper (2018, 2019), the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Best Poster Award (2014, 2015, and 2017), and the Wong Hock Boon Society’s Outstanding Mentor Award (2017).
- She is a firm believer in active philanthropy and is on the executive council of the Singapore Women’s Association, where she chairs the Singapore Visioncare Program, which gives free eye screening programs to the community. She has also participated in multiple cataract and oculoplastic missions to distant areas of China, Myanmar, and Cambodia in need of eye treatment.
