Dr Su Hsien Wen Daniel is an eye surgeon in Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
In addition to her specialization in cataract and glaucoma treatments, Dr. Su also treats all forms of eye disorders including diabetic retinopathy, dry eyes, childhood myopia and macular degeneration.
The doctor has done various forms of glaucoma surgery, including cataract surgery.
Previously, Dr Su has served as the deputy head of the training and education department at the Singapore National Eye Centre in Singapore (SNEC). He has also worked as a senior clinical lecturer at the National University of Singapore.
Dr Su Hsien Wen Daniel was the associate program director of the SingHealth Ophthalmology Residency Programme and helped to create the residency training curriculum in Singapore.
Dr Su Hsien Wen Daniel is a regular visiting instructor at our ophthalmology department where he teaches trainee ophthalmologists glaucoma diagnosis, laser and surgical procedures, as well as cataract surgery.
In order to do my glaucoma fellowship training in Singapore, I attended advanced training in glaucoma at Duke University Health System.
Dr Su Hsien Wen Daniel has been active in several academic studies and clinical trials in ophthalmology and authored several journal publications. He previously worked on a research project that looked at the role of vascular disorders in the development of primary glaucoma.
Dr Su Hsien Wen Daniel has written many book chapters, including his most recent contributions in colour atlases and textbooks in ophthalmology. He has given numerous lectures and taught at various seminars and conferences.
Dr Su has won several accolades including the Singapore Health Quality Service Prize, senior group and the SNEC Residency Best Cataract Surgery Instructor Award. He is the recipient of several prestigious awards including the Bravery Star, awarded for his clinical duties during the SARS epidemic, and the Hoops Medal for Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1999.
