- Dr Swaminathan Ikshuvanam earned a bachelor’s degree in 1982 from the National University of Singapore. In 1997, he earned a Fellowship in General Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. Dr Swaminathan has vast experience in General Surgery.
- He also received urology training at North Middlesex Hospital in London, United Kingdom, as part of the Health Manpower Development Plan. He has conducted fundamental studies on animal adhesion formation and published in peer-reviewed journals. He currently practices medicine in Gleneagles Hospital and Parkway East Hospital. He is also the Chairman of the Chapter of General Surgeons, College of Surgeons: Censor of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, and a council member for the College of Surgeons.
- Additionally, Dr Swaminathan Ikshuvanam volunteers as a medical counselor and has taught undergraduates and postgraduates at the National University of Singapore as a clinical instructor. He has presented talks and lectures, as well as journal updates, and has organized scientific meetings and hospital seminars. He attends international conferences on a regular basis and is involved in introducing tested and established technology to the market.
