Education & Experience:
Dr Tan Hsi Ming Bryan is a specialist surgeon who practices in Singapore. Dr. Tarazona is a specialist in keyhole surgeries of the shoulder and elbow, and has performed the largest number of bone transfer surgeries via keyhole surgery in Singapore. These complex surgical procedures are performed in young active patients suffering from repeated dislocations of the shoulder joint.
Dr Tan Hsi Ming Bryan first earned his undergraduate degrees in Singapore and then progressed to his advanced studies in the United Kingdom. Hence, he obtained a master’s degree in medicine from NUS.
Dr Tan has held the post of Associate Professor and Specialist in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at National University Hospital. He has done several of the orthopaedic operations at many other restructured hospitals, and is still a consulting surgeon at NUH.
Dr Tan has also tried to develop his skills abroad. He was made an honorary fellow in three St Vincent’s Sportsmed, St Vincent’s Hospital and Nepean Hospital hospitals in Australia. In 2013, Dr Tan attended further training at a hospital called L’Archet 2 Hospital, which is located in Nice, France.
Dr Tan continues to focus on expanding medical education. He was a member of the NUHS faculty’s shoulder and elbow surgery division, and helped establish the NUHS’s shoulder and elbow surgery program and curriculum. He has also developed and organised several courses including the Cadaveric Advanced Shoulder Course and Cadaveric Shoulder Course, and was the course chairman of the Shanghai Cadaveric Shoulder Course in China, and the course chairman for the Cadaveric Shoulder Course, Bangkok, Thailand.
Dr Tan Hsi Ming Bryan excels in treating sports-related injuries, such as shoulder and elbow arthroscopies, as well as rotator cuff repair. He is a specialist in total foot, total hip, total knee, and total shoulder arthroplasty and hemiarthroplasty.
