- Dr Tan Ngian Chye graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2006 and then pursued subspecialty training in head and neck ablative surgery through a fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology. Dr Tan continued his education by completing a fellowship in reconstructive microsurgery at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan under the direction of Professors Wei Fu-Chan and Jeng Seng-Feng. Dr Tan is very experienced in both head and neck resection and head and neck oncologic reconstruction as a result of his clinical experience and completion of these fellowships.
- Dr Tan Ngian Chye has almost two decades of clinical expertise managing difficult surgical situations in restructured institutions. He was the Clinical Lead for head and neck oncologic reconstruction and skin malignancies at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS). Dr Tan is also the Co-Chair of the NCCS Cancer Service Line Development (CSLD) for nasopharyngeal carcinoma and a member of the CSLDs for thyroid and head and neck malignancies. He was given the Singapore Health Quality Service Silver Award for 2016/2017 and the Gold Award for 2018/2019 in recognition of his remarkable clinical and service contributions.
- Dr Tan Ngian Chye has co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications in prestigious journals such as Oral Oncology, Head & Neck Surgery, Surgery, Microsurgery, Cancer, and Oncotarget. Additionally, he earned the SingHealth Publish Award three years in a row from 2013 to 2015.
- Dr Tan is passionate about both innovation and education. He is actively involved in medical technology innovation and has been awarded multiple national competitive grants for his efforts. He educated and guided doctors interested in medical technology as the Director of Device Development in Surgery and holds multiple patents. Dr Tan previously held positions as Clinical Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and Director of the SingHealth General Surgery Residency Program. In 2017, he received the RISE award for outstanding teaching faculty.
- Dr Tan accepts recommendations for all types of cancer, with a particular emphasis on nasopharyngeal carcinoma, thyroid, skin, and head and neck cancers.
