- Dr Tan Siang Hui Colin is a Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist and Clinician-Researcher at Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s Department of Ophthalmology. He did a Fellowship in Medical Retina and Retinal Imaging at the University of Southern California’s Doheny Eye Institute in Los Angeles, California, USA. Dr Tan treats patients who have age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular disorders, polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy, and diabetic retinopathy.
- Additionally, Dr Tan Siang Hui Colin treats a number of eye problems and performs ocular procedures such as cataract removal. Dr Tan has been recognized by the National Healthcare Group as a Clinician Leader in Research (CLR) and as a Researcher Investigator Scientist Enabler (RISE). Additionally, he has received various academic and scientific honors, including the Clinician Investigator Award and the Alcon Research Prize from the National Healthcare Group Eye Institute. He has published more than 50 articles in international journals including Ophthalmology, Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, American Journal of Ophthalmology, British Journal of Ophthalmology, Eye, and the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Vitreoretinal disorders such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy are among his research interests, as are myopia and its implications; cataract surgery, epidemiology, and retinal imaging techniques.
- Dr. Tan has a strong interest in education throughout his career, in addition to an active clinical practice and research. He is a Clinical Lecturer under the National University of Singapore’s Clinical Faculty Scheme and has received numerous education accolades, including the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine’s Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
