  • Dr Tay Kuang Wei Kevin is an oncologist who practices at Singapore’s Gleneagles and Mount Elizabeth hospitals.
    Dr Tay’s subspecialty interests include breast and gynecological tumors, soft tissue and bone sarcomas, and hematological malignancies such as lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and leukemia.
    He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Hawaii and his medical oncology internship at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH), both in the United States of America. During his residency and fellowship programs, he was named chief resident and chief fellow, respectively.
  • Dr Tay Kuang Wei Kevin is one of the few cancer doctors in Singapore who is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
    Dr Tay studied at the National Cancer Institute/National Institutes of Health under many renowned oncologists, including Dr Sandy Swain, a world authority on breast cancer, and Dr Giuseppe Giaccone. He spent two years conducting research at the National Institutes of Health under the mentorship of Dr Wyndham Wilson, Dr Louis Staudt, and Dr Elaine Jaffe. His primary research objective was to gain a better understanding of the pathology of violent lymphomas.
    Dr Tay Kuang Wei Kevin returned to Singapore in early 2010 and joined the National Cancer Centre’s Department of Medical Oncology. He is also a visiting consultant at the National Cancer Centre today.
    Dr Tay is involved in translational research and was a member of the National Cancer Centre’s core group that was given a prestigious center grant by Singapore’s National Medical Research Council. They discovered a novel mutation in NK/T-cell lymphoma and identified a new subtype of enteropathy-associated T-cell lymphoma as a result of their study. Both studies were covered by The Straits Times and were published in prestigious oncology journals.
