Biodata
- Dr Wong Soong Kuan earned a bachelor’s degree from NUS in 1988. He gained postgraduate degrees in 1993, earning his MMED (Surgery) and FRCS (Edinburgh), for which he was awarded the gold medal of the Chapter of Surgeons. His advanced surgical training concentrated on colorectal surgery, and he worked as a registrar in the Colorectal Department at Singapore General Hospital for a year. Dr Wong received a ministry of health scholarship and spent two years in the United States of America. Between 1997 and 1999, he completed a Colorectal Fellowship at the University of Minnesota and a Laparoscopic Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Dr Wong has previously worked at a variety of institutions, including Alexandra and Changi General Hospitals, before transitioning to private practice in 2004 as a consultant surgeon.
- The Colorectal Clinic provides care for perianal problems (piles, abscesses, and fistulas), colorectal disease (including cancer), advanced limited access surgery (laparoscopic surgery), endoscopy, and general abdominal surgery (including hernia, gallbladder and gastric surgery).
