- Dr Yeap Heng Oon Shang is a pediatric oncology specialist at Icon SOC Gleneagles Medical Clinic in Singapore and a consulting consultant at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He earned a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from The University of Sydney and was a recipient of the Faculty of Science’s International Merit Scholarship for academic excellence. He was also inducted into the Golden Key International Honour Society for being one of his class’s best performers.
Dr Yeap completed his physician training in Sydney at the Royal North Shore and Gosford hospitals. Following that, he completed a fellowship in medical oncology at Westmead’s Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre. Throughout this time period, he specialized in and cared for patients with cancers of all kinds.
Dr Yeap Heng Oon Shang then pursued a fellowship in clinical research at the Sydney West Clinical Trials Centre to further his interest in cancer treatment. He conducted several clinical trials during that time period for breast cancer, urogenital cancer, new cancer drugs, and pharmacogenomics. He has since presented his findings at several international conferences and also published them in prestigious scientific journals such as the Journal of Clinical Oncology. - From 2011 to 2015, Dr Yeap Heng Oon Shang served as a consultant in medical oncology at Johns Hopkins Singapore and Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He treated cancer patients of all kinds, but especially those with breast, urogenital, gastro-intestinal, lung, and melanoma cancers.
He oversaw the Tan Tock Seng oncology clinic and was an involved researcher, serving as the principal investigator of several clinical trials for cancer patients. He is a member of the faculty of Johns Hopkins Medicine and continues to teach and train medical students and residents at Johns Hopkins Singapore and Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
