Apollo Hospitals Ahmedabad is a worldwide Indian hospital chain based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Prathap C. Reddy launched it in 1983 as India’s first corporate healthcare service. Several Apollo hospitals, as well as 13 NABH National Certification Board for Facilities & Healthcare Providers hospitals, were among the first in India to gain international healthcare accreditation from the America-based Joint Commission International (JCI).
In addition to hospitals, Apollo has established telemedicine services since launching a test project in Aragonda, Prathap Reddy’s hometown, in 2000. In April 2017, Apollo and Health Education England signed a Memorandum of Understanding to deliver a large number of doctors to the English National Health Service to fill gaps.
