Professional Statement

In 1975, Dr Andrea Rapkin earned her bachelor’s degree from Cornell University. She went on to get her M.D. in 1979 from the University of New York in Buffalo, where she studied medicine. In 1983, Dr. Rapkin completed an obstetrics and gynecology residency at the UCLA School of Medicine. American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Board Certification (of which she is also a fellow). She joined the UCLA faculty as a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology after earning her M.D.

Additionally, she oversees the UCLA Pelvic Pain Clinic. Dr Andrea Rapkin has written extensively on premenstrual syndrome, persistent pelvic pain, vulvodynia, and women’s reproductive health, as well as several research publications and contributions to textbooks on menstrual-cycle-related mood disorders and pelvic pain.
