- Dr Cassandra Loo graduated from Loma Linda University in California, USA in 1999 with a medical degree. In 2002, she finished a residency in Internal Medicine at the same university. Throughout her education, she created her unique “Whole Person Care” philosophy, which encompasses not only the physical, but also the emotional and spiritual. In recognition of her work ethic and commitment to patient care, she received the prestigious “Intern of the Year” award in 2000. Following the completion of her residency, she was offered the role of “Chief Resident.” However, she elected to pursue a career in inpatient internal medicine rather than academic medicine. She passed the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) certification examination in 2002 and was recertified in 2012.
- Dr Loo has spent the most of her career at Kaiser Permanente Roseville Medical Center, where she is well-known for her compassionate bedside demeanor, meticulous consultations, and pragmatic approach to team-based patient care. She is particularly interested in chronic diseases of the lifestyle that might be improved via nutritional and lifestyle therapies. Patient education has been one of her defining characteristics.
