Biodata
Dr Clin Assoc Prof Lee Shu Yen, a Clinical Associate Professor, leads the Surgical Retina Department at the Singapore National Eye Centre. Graduating from NUS in 1996, she earned her post-graduate degrees in Ophthalmology in 2004 (FAMS and FRCSEd (Ophth)). Dr. Lee completed a 2-year fellowship in vitreo-retinal surgery at SNEC and gained valuable experience working with Prof Ian Constable and Prof Ian MacAllister at the Lions Eye Institute, Western Australia.
Dedicated to education, Dr Clin Assoc Prof Lee Shu Yen became an Adjunct Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School in 2008. Dr Clin Assoc Prof Lee Shu Yen actively instructs undergraduate medical students at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, holding the position of clinical lecturer. Additionally, she currently serves as the President of the Singapore Society of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Lee’s research focuses on retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, retinal complications of myopia, and gene therapy for retinal disorders. Beyond her professional pursuits, she enjoys tennis and is a proud member of the tennis teams representing both the Singapore Medical Association and the Ministry of Health.
