- Dr. Deepak is a renowned GI, General, and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon who has been in practice for over 33 years.
He is skilled in performing surgery for Portal Hypertension, Splenectomy and Lieno-renal shunts, Ilio-anal Anastomosis with a pouch for Ulcerative colitis, Esophageal resection with Gastric pull up, Whipple’s Pancreato-Duodenectomy, Hepaticojejunostomy for Biliary strictures and benign and malignant obstructive jaundice, etc.
He also does surgery for surgically obstructive jaundice, pancreatic illnesses (acute and chronic pancreatitis), pancreatic malignancies, upper and lower gastrointestinal hemorrhage, and gastrointestinal malignancies (esophageal, gastric, colonic, and rectal tumors). - In a career spanning over three decades, he has done one thousand liver and digestive surgical procedures, including laparoscopic surgery.
He led the team responsible for establishing the Department of GI Surgery at the PSRI in New Delhi.
He has held the position of Professor of Surgery at the GTB Hospital in New Delhi.
On September 15, 2006, he underwent liver transplantation surgery at Apollo Hospital.
In January 2009, he was awarded the President’s Appreciation Award at the IMA South Delhi Annual Convention.
He is a member of the Association of Surgeons of India, its Delhi chapter, the Indian Society of Gastroenterology, the Indian Association of Surgical Gastroenterology, the Indian Association of Endoscopic Gastro surgeons of India, and the South Delhi branch of the Indian Medical Association.
Until March 2009, he was the Secretary of the Consultant forum at Apollo hospital, where he coordinated numerous programs.
From 1999 to 2008, as the Convenor of the “Delhi GI Surgeons club,” he arranged regular clinical meetings in several Delhi departments of surgical gastroenterology.
He is committed to research and has published articles in prestigious journals. He has also written book chapters.
