Dr Donald B Kohn received a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Microbiology from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, as well as an M.D. from the University of Wisconsin Medical School. He completed a Pediatric Residency in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals, followed by a Fellowship in Pediatric Immunology at the National Cancer Institute’s Metabolism Branch in Bethesda, Maryland. During his fellowship, he initiated research on gene therapy for blood cell illnesses, which he continues to this day.
