- Dr Durga Damodaran is a Thoraipakkam-based family physician who recently returned from the United Kingdom after completing a residency in family medicine. After completing her undergraduate studies at a prestigious university in India, Dr Durga went to the United Kingdom in 2005 to pursue a specialty in family medicine. After completing her general medical rotations, she pursued advanced specialist training in family medicine and has been working in the United Kingdom ever since.
- Dr Durga Damodaran worked as a full-time family physician, seeing a diverse range of patients. Her training covered geriatric medicine (elderly care), paediatrics, gynecology, internal medicine, dermatology, psychiatry, and general surgery. She took an interest in diabetes as a result of the increased prevalence of diabetes among the Asian population and earned a Diploma in Dialectology from Wales University in the United Kingdom. She also received cosmetology training and is certified to administer Botox and dermal fillers to the face.
- In recent years, the concept of family physician has resurfaced and gained traction.
