- Dr Ong Kim Kiat earned his MBBS from the National University of Singapore and went on to complete postgraduate training and an HMDP fellowship in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, Neonatal Cardiac Surgery, and Arrhythmia Surgery.
- In the 1980s, when attached to the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Singapore General Hospital, Dr. Ong developed the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Training Program. Dr. Ong served as the Hospital’s Head of Cardiothoracic Surgery from 1992 to 1995. From 1996 to 1997, Dr. Ong served as Deputy Director of the Singapore Heart Centre (now known as the National Heart Centre). Currently, he serves as the Chief of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at K.K. Women’s and Children’s Hospital. He is also a specialist at Mount Elizabeth Hospital’s Singapore Cardiothoracic Centre and a visiting consultant for Cardiothoracic Surgery at the National University Hospital’s National Heart Centre. He is also a visiting consultant at JPMC Jerutong Hospital in Brunei at the moment.
- Pediatric Cardiac Surgery and Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery are among Dr. Ong’s clinical interests.
