- Dr Sandeep Uppal trained as a Specialist Registrar in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery in the United Kingdom. He is currently listed on the Specialist Registers of the General Medical Council in the United Kingdom and the Singapore Medical Council as an Otolaryngologist. He is a Fellow of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of England and Ireland. He completed a one-year fellowship in facial plastic surgery with the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery. He trained in all elements of facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery as part of the fellowship at world-renowned centers in the Netherlands, Germany, and the United States of America. He received the highest score of all international candidates in the examination administered by the American Board of Facial Plastic Surgery as part of the International Board of Facial Plastic Surgery’s certification process. Dr. Uppal’s passion is to assist people improve their lives by enhancing their appearance and boosting their confidence and self-esteem. He is dedicated to the advancement of facial plastic surgery of the highest quality through training, education, and sharing of professional information. He also completed a one-year fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons of England in advanced sinus surgery and endoscopic anterior skull base surgery. Dr Sandeep Uppal performs endoscopic sinus surgery on a main and revision basis, as well as frontal sinus drainage treatments and endoscopic DCR. Dr Sandeep Uppal’s clinical and scientific interests have resulted in 27 peer-reviewed international journal publications and several worldwide speeches. Among these are first author publications in Nature Genetics and the British Medical Journal. He just successfully defended his PhD thesis, titled “Genetic Studies on Inherited Diseases Presenting with Unusual ENT Problems,” at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. During his PhD, he found the genetic and molecular underpinnings for the pachydermoperiostosis syndrome, a disorder characterized by aesthetic facial abnormalities caused by facial skin thickening.
