From Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, Dr Wu Yik Tian Akira earned his MBBS (1974). In 1981, he was awarded the Full-Time Specialist Scholarship from Prince Henry’s Hospital to be a Renal Research Fellow. He is a Fellow of the Singapore Academy of Medicine and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (1981). (1991).
Dr Wu Yik Tian Akira was a nephrologist (Department of Renal Medicine) at the Singapore General Hospital and a nephrologist at Prince Henry’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, prior to entering private practice.
Dr Wu Yik Tian Akira has published or co-authored extensively in international peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of the Renal Treatment National Committee, the Renal Registry of Singapore and the Health Sciences Authority’s Drug Screening Centre. He was formerly the Chairman of Mount Elizabeth Hospital’s Medical Advisory Board and Continuous Medical Education Committee. Its membership includes the International Nephrology Society, the American Nephrology Society, the Australasian Nephrology Society, the American Hypertension Society, and the European Renal Association & European Dialysis & Transplant Association. He is currently the Singapore Hypertension Society’s Vice-President.
